The Tigra Professionnel 242 titanium racing bicycle is presented in late 1970s Tigra catalogues as top of the line bicycle. The titanium frameset was constructed by two pioneers, Alessandro Manfredi from the Compepre factory at Settimo Milanese near Milan in Italy and Vittorio Coassin, an italian framebuilder living at Carouge near Geneva, Switzerland. Coassin had connections to Eric Griesshaber, Tigra pro team leader. From around 1974 on Coassin sold some Comepre titanium frames and special lightweight components to the Maschinenfabrik Gränichen factory, the owner of the Tigra brand.
