Tigra was one of the 5 most well known bicycle manufacturers in Switzerland. Founded at the end of the 1940s by Eric Griesshaber and the ski instructor Eduard Piguet. When Piguet left the factory,  Griesshaber sold the Tigra brand to the Maschinenfabrik Gränichen AG (MAFAG). From then on Tigra were produced in their factory. Tigra supported their professional racing team from 1950 – 1977. During the mid 1980s the MAFAG went bancrupt and sold the Tigra brand to another bicycle frame factory in Switzerland.

This Tigra Professionnel was completely disassembled, all parts were carefully cleaned, all ball bearings cleaned in solvent, controlled, regreased and adjusted. Both wheels were laced up with the original Campagnolo high flange hubs with Mavic Championnat du Monde Professionnel rims and the original DT Competition spokes. The red cotton cloth handlebar tape was replaced and a set of new Continental Giro tubulars were mounted. The frame set is made of Reynolds 531 tube set and Nervex Professional lug set. The Tigra is equipped with a Campagnolo Record / Gran Sport group, a Durax Special Courses crankset with Simplex aluminum alloy chainwheels, Weinmann Vainqueur 999 brakes, an Ideal 51 leather saddle and Philippe stem and handlebars.
