History & Specifications

The bicycle brand Koga Miyata was founded in 1974 in the Netherlands. The steel frames were built in Japan by the Miyata factory and the Shimano components were imported from Japan. The bicycles were distributed in Europe. In the late 1970s Koga Miyata started to sponsor professional teams.

The frame number of this Koga Miyata Full Pro indicates the frame was built in 1979. Later in the 1980 Koga Miyata catalog were presented the Full Pro series. The frame set is built with double butted Tange Prestige tubing, lugs and bottom bracket have windows and the brazing was executed in a very high standard. Factory set up with a complete Shimano Dura-Ace EX Component group. This group did not contain stem and seatpost. This components were supplied by SR. The wheels are rebuilt with NOS Mavic GP4 rims, Shimano Dura-Ace EX hubs, DT Competition spokes and Continental Giro 22 tubulars.

The bicycle was carefully cleaned, all bearings disassembled, cleaned in solvent, regreased and adjusted. The paint shows some chips here and there. Otherwise this is a very fine example of an early Koga Miyata Full Pro. Das Rennvelo zeigt ein paar Gebrauchsspuren und ist in sehr gutem originalen Zustand. Replaced are the handlebar tape and the brakelever hoods with a pair of NOS Dura-Ace EX original spare parts.

This Koga Miyata Full Pro racing bicycle is presented in the premium book «kick into next gear» in great detail.
