Geschichte & Spezifikationen

The Holdsworth 531 Special was only available as frame set and was offered with a custom paint option from 1975-76. That’s why you may find various paint schemes of the 531 Special. Holdsworth was in the 1970s British representant and importer of Campagnolo components and fameous for their professional racing team bikes painted in orange with blue stripes.

To find a Holdsworth that was purchased back in the 1970s in Switzerland is very exceptional. It survived in the basement of the first owner. A local seller picked it up and I could buy it on a bike flee market nearby. Typically a Holdsworth racing bicycle is set up with a complete Campagnolo Nuovo Record groupset. The Holdsworth was carefully cleanded, is completely mechanically overhaulded, all ball bearings were cleaned in solvent, regreased and adjusted. The cotton cloth handlebar tape and the Campagnolo brakelever hoods and the tubulars were replaced.
