Cilo was founded 1916 in Switzerland in the city Lausanne-Oron at Lake Geneva. The name Cilo is an acronym for Charles Jan Lausanne Oron. After WW2 they had their professionals like the fameous Hans Knecht (world champion 1946) and the KK (Fredy Kübler and Hugo Koblet), both Tour de France winners. From 1980 to 1986 they had the Cilo-Aufina professional team with well known riders like Beat Breu, Daniel Gisiger and Tony Rominger.

This Cilo SL 145 racing bicycle was in 1980 the absolut top model. A custom built frameset made of a Reynolds 531 Lightweight tube set, set-up with a complete Campagnolo Super Record Titanium groupset with titanium bottom bracket and pedal axles, saddle frame in aluminum and aluminum freewheel sprockets. The Cilo was found in very good condition. The handlebar tape, the Campagnolo brake hoods and the freewheel were replaced. After the photo shooting all Cilo decals were replaced with an original Cilo decal set from the same supplier Bickel & Co. as in 1980. The price tag of this particular model was around 3’000.- Swiss Francs and corresponded with an investment for a 125 ccm enduro motorcycle in those days.
