History & Specifications

Koga Miyata was founded 1974 in the Netherlands. The frame sets were imported from the Japanese Miyata factory and were assembled in Holland using Shimano groupsets. From the beginning Koga Miyata supported and equipped professional racing teams for the big races in Europe. One of the first professional team they sponsored was the “IJsboerke” race team.

This Koga Miyata from 1980 is the first Full Pro that can be found in the Koga Miyata sales catalogues.

The Koga Miyata had been carefully cleaned, the fork and headset were disassembled, cleaned and regreased, seat post removed, seat tube cleaned and regreased, brakeset and derailleurs carefully cleaned and the hubs were disassembled, the bearings cleaned and regreased. The wheelset is completely rebuilt. NOS Mavic GP4 rims, new DT Swiss brass nipples and new Continental Giro 22 tubular. On the rear wheel also a set of new DT Swiss Competition 2.0/1.8 butted stainless spokes were used. The Full Pro is equipped with a complete Shimano Dura-Ace EX groupset. Remarkable is the finish of the steel frameset. The lugs are all windowed and were solded perfect, the blue metallic paint coating is thin and has a smooth surface, all lug windows are painted in gold metalic. The chrome plated dropouts and fork ends are in very good conditon. The bicycle shows a few signs of use and is in original and good condition. I have replaced the handlebar tape and mounted a NOS Shimano brake lever hood set.

This Koga Miyata Full Pro racing bicycle is presented in the premium book «kick into next gear» in great detail.
